Our September 2019 show will be Patience.  We’ll be performing at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre on 21st September 2019, as well as at other venues (to be announced).  We’ll be doing a unique take on Patience, updating it to the 1960’s and giving it a music-festival twist!

Jorvik’s new production of Patience sees the Gilbert and Sullivan favourite relaunched in the 1960s. It tells the story of rock god/poet Reggie Bunthorne and his love for the blonde bombshell rock diva Patience and rivalry with impresario Archie Grosvenor. Set at a folk festival at the stately home of the Duke of Dunstable this is a tale of love, passion, groupies, new age travellers and security guards thrown together in an unlikely mix of songs, poetry, intrigue and downright deception. Witness the rivalry of rock stars and managers, the adulation of the ladies and the complete incompetence of Col Calverley’s security force. Who will win the prize? Who will be Bunthorne’s Bride? All will be revealed by the end of the evening..

Rehearsals are on Mondays at 7.30pm at Huntington Methodist Church.

We’d love to welcome new members, so please contact us if you are interested in being involved, whether that’s as a member of the cast, orchestra, or backstage helper.  Do get in touch on info@gsyork.org.uk or come along to a rehearsal- remember, we don’t audition for chorus members!
